Hula wouldn't be the same without uli uli! From lively ancient (Kahiko) dances to graceful modern (auana) performances, uli uli have always added excitement and creativity to hula storytelling. Our handcrafted uli uli are high quality and fully functional, with the top section featuring vibrant colored feathers. Although the feathers used to come from Hawaiian birds, we now use dyed chicken feathers as most of the native birds are extinct. The hollowed out and polished wood lower section is then filled with seeds and beads to create the rattle, and a handle is tied to complete the instrument. Delivery takes 12-18 days.
